About Me

In the last 25 years I have been lucky enough to work with artists and bands that include; Shirley Bassey, John Lord and Roger Glover (Deep Purple), Paul Anka, Michael Ball, Jane McDonald, Sheridan Smith, David Benoit, Russell Watson, Tony Hadley, The BBC Big Band, The Drifters, Gwen Dickie, Georgie Fame, Bob Mintzer, Mike Stern, Eric Marienthal, Beverley knight and Phil Collins. I am currently the musical director and drummer for both Tony Christie and Leo Sayer.

I have played on over 20 West End shows that include; Lion King, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen and Bat Out Of Hell.

I co-run the 18 piece band Spice Fusion with Simon Niblock and we have released 2 albums to date – “Trying Too Hard” and “Trying Hard 2”  Both albums feature a host of ‘A’ list UK session players along with some world-class special guests.

I run my own 5-piece band, The Elliott Henshaw Band, and have an album on sale “Is That Not What You Wanted”. My newest album, “Who’d Have Guest?”, is set for release in August 2021.

In 2012 I had the idea to organize The 25th Anniversary Buddy Rich Memorial Concert at the London Palladium. My good friend Toby Cruse produced and promoted the event I was the Creative director. Buddy’s daughter, Cathy Rich, was the host for the evening and I got to perform alongside many leading names in the international drumming community.

I have performed on over 50 albums and recorded music for various film and TV shows.

I teach privately, online or in person, from my home studio as well as teaching at the highly respected universities BIMM and ICMP in London.
